this couple is just too weird they never even met face to face they never talked and yes itachi cares about sasuke and so does sakura but in shippuden later on she tells naruto,sai,and others that she wants to kill sasuke she failed and that ended up her alomst dieying sasusaku will never happen and such as itasaku i dont mean to be rude but thats just how the world is good day to all.
She failed to kill Sasuke because her love for him is selfish, when she talks about her love for him it's all about her feelings in much the same way that Hinata talking about her love for Naruto is all about her feelings for him. SasuSaku isn't going to happen because of this reason.

I agree too. but inspite of sakoura's selfish feelings sasusaku did happen. It was really frustrating. I think sasusaku happened because there were no other choices for pairings. and I just hate sasusaku pairing. Sakura is a very shallow character.
